GLAD

They are officially en route home. Utilities canceled, keys forfeited, truck packed, on the interstate, headed home. The DC chapter has officially been written.

Other deep thoughts:

Why is Colonel spelled like that, but pronounced KER-nal?

Do I need to edit my iTunes library every time Sean Combs changes his name?

Why hasn't Cam called me yet?

  1. The word "colonel" comes from 2 French words that are similar....coronel and colonel....someone chose the latter spelling, perhaps Noah Webster.

Most of the time, when you have a word that has one or more silent letters, they were pronounced at one time or another in the history of the word. Example: kneel, dumb, etc. English is constantly evolving and these types of changes are a result of us "borrowing" from so many languages.

  2. It's easy, just delete all of the Sean Combs crap from your ipod. If somebody had decent talent they wouldn't need to keep changing their name.
