SICKLY

Well kids, either that chicken marinade DID come after me after I ate the second to last portion on Thursday afternoon for lunch, OR I caught a nasty stomach virus. That’s why, despite my best attempt to go to bed early on Thursday night, I instead starred in a one-woman show in my bathroom. Act One, 11:00 pm. Act Two, 12:00 am. Encore performance, and yes I was just as surprised as you that there was anything LEFT to throw up, 1:30 am. Here’s the best part: alarm clock going off for me to head into work, 4:30 am.

I got relieved of my duties around 8:30 am and went home and passed out. Once my fever hit 101.6 around noon, I decided I really should drag myself to the doctor, which proved useless. Two prescriptions, three bottles of Gatorade and a few hours later, I was back in bed… which is where I probably should have stayed the whole time.

Short of some occasional queasiness and bouts of dizziness/nausea, I’m fine. I don’t know that I will be cooking that chicken anytime soon (honestly, I don’t think that was it, but it’s pretty suspicious, no? Plus once something passes through your throat in both directions, you’re not exactly CRAVING it anytime soon, are you?) but I’ve held down some food (even during the football games this weekend!) and am back at work.

Hope your weekend was much more exciting and glamorous.

  2. I feel for you! The same thing happened to me last week after having a delightful chicken casserole, but I still think maybe it wasn't the chicken.

Here's hoping you feel better soon!

  4. Lofton once had a doctor tell him that you do not run fever with food poisoning. Maybe that will help your feelings toward the chicken?
