BOOTED

Yesterday I did something a little crazy.

In keeping with the "do something for yourself!" mantra I am hearing over and over, I have been looking for things to do. Manicures and cocktail parties and cooking classes, oh my!

Are you ready for this?

BOOT CAMP.

AT 6 AM.

FOR SIX WEEKS.

And yes, this was my idea. I went from discovering it on the YMCA's website, to paid up and registered in the span of about an hour and a half. You can't give ideas like that too much thought or else you'll think your way right out of it. I was surprised that I quickly found a coworker to do it with me, so right after work we went by the Y and signed up. We start Tuesday!

And in case I was still on the fence about what I had gotten myself into, guess who I happened to see immediately after leaving the Y. Yep, you guessed it. One lane over, heading home from work. Boot camp, affirmed.

I am really excited/nervous. You should be too. Don't think you're not going to be reading all about it.

  1. you go girl...even though I know there are no hard feelings, who says instilling a little regret in his mind won't hurt? And there's no better way to do that than by looking (and actually feeling) better than you were when you were with his "I'm just not feeling it" self!! I've been there sweetie, and I know it hurts like Hell, but time really does help...there will come a time when your heart doesn't stop every time the phone rings. I am living proof, and now happily married for six years with three kids...and guess where he is? On match.com. Karma!

  3. You will LOVE it! Nothing like a push up to make you feel like you can take on the world. And, I love early workouts- you feel great and have your evenings free for friends, sleep and tv.

  4. Who did you see--one lane over that confirmed your decision? Richard Simmons?? You lost me there.
SO Glad you are doing something so good for YOU! Like that marathon, if it isn't a challenge, I don't think you would even bother! Go my little tea bag! You always work best in hot water!
