DRESSED (part 2)

Here are the results to yesterday's little game.

If you don't believe me, visit Anthropologie.com and see for yourself. Every one of these images is of a nightgown ("chemise") or a dress currently for sale on their web site.

My point is that if none of you can tell the difference, I say we throw caution to the wind and start wearing our nightgowns out in public. I mean, if the only difference in a nightgown and a dress at Anthropoligie is the price tag, then I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this already. And if anyone at Anthropologie is reading this and wants to send me a free nightgown/dress in exchange for all the product promotion, please feel free.

  2. Since when do nighties (Item G) need pockets?

  3. I would wear any of them as dresses, and none of them to sleep in.

  4. I'll be really honest: since I started living alone, most nights I sleep naked. So I REALLY wouldn't know why pockets, ruching, a hem, spaghetti straps, a bow or ruffles would be necessary for catching Zs. And if I DID want a nightgown, I'd get it at Target for under $20.

  5. Wait - Does D (nightie) have a BELT? That seems unnecessary...

  6. Speechless. All of the spaghetti straps were nighties.

That grey thing is ugly. It's 50 year old woman sexy. I could see that crap on Desperate Housewives.

  7. Hey Lindsey! Haven't said hi yet since I started blogging, but must say that your blog cracks me up. Always an interesting or funny topic.Which brings me to today's... Eric's comment made me laugh cause I can so picture him saying that. And I have to agree about his opinion on "the grey thing." The others were cute, but about the whole debate in general, I definitely agree that it's a guessing game when it comes to nightgowns and dresses at Anthro. The good news: if you do find a cute nightie and want to wear it as a dress, most people won't be able to tell the difference!

  8. Maybe at Anthropologie "nightgown" is short for like, b-list. All the beginning designers get to start in the nightgown department, before moving up to real dresses. But since that's where they all wish they were, they just design dresses they want to make and call them "nightgowns." Just a theory. There's no way anyone would sleep in that grey thing.
