BELIEVING

Today is January 22. Do you know who was born on this day? Nobody that I know very well, but someone worth recognizing - Steve Perry, the voice of Journey.

In honor of Steve, we are going to talk about "Don't Stop Believing." Did you know this song was the most downloaded song in the 20th century on iTunes? And the 74th most downloaded song of 2008?

Why is this song so great? When was the first time you heard it? What is your favorite memory of this song? Discuss.

  1. This song is great because no matter where you are, or who you are with, everyone will sing along when it comes on. I first heard it when I was in middle school or high school probably. My favorite memory is hearing it in a bar called the Bottom Line in D.C. during the summer softball season.

The softball league, which consists of about 70 teams, is absolutely obsessed with the song. It's an alumni league, and of course the Auburn team loves the song, but Wake Forest takes the cake. Every August, during the tournament, Wake Forest plays "Don't Stop Believing" on repeat for 3 straight days. And I enjoy every minute of it.

  2. This song is great, as previously mentioned, for its incredible sing-a-long value. And also, although everyone acts like they're joking when they're singing it, secretly everyone thinks it's awesome. Also, it is timeless.
