1. Wes and I are both 6/12 on Idol predictions. Here's the thing: it's tougher this year because as Paula says, it's the most talented season ever -- a sentiment with which I agree wholeheartedly, if by "most" you actually mean "least." Though Archuleta himself could be responsible for providing the most talented season ever, so if that's what Paula means, then yes, I agree. But in previous seasons, the Top 12 is more or less comprised of about six good singers, five average singers and one joke (Savol, Covias, Sanjaya, etc). The thing that is making this season tough is that it's opposite in formula: we have one great singer, three good singers and eight time wasters who may can sing but won't win. And I don't care in which order those 8 time wasters are sent home as long as they get sent. Flip a coin. Roll some dice. Would it be better if I said all eight names at once, as in they are tying for last place? But back to this week: Kady and Luke were easy to predict. And while I couldn't be happier (simply) that Danny Jessica Alba is gone, I thought he'd Sanjaya his way into the Top 12. But I gladly stand corrected. As for the females, Asia'h should not have left before Neidermyer or KLC. And as I told Stephen and Eric - who were both 2/4 last night - it is kind of shameful how much thought I put into this.

2. $1.49 obsession of the week - Magic Shine Nail File. Ladies, it's amazing. Trust me.

3. There is a good chance that I'll be running my +9 miles tomorrow morning in 2-4" of snow. If that's not hardcore, I don't know what is.

4. I am DREADING the next two weeks.

5. I got a fortune this week that read "Your love of music will be an important part of your life." Interesting. I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

  1. Thank you. This is without a doubt one of the worst season's ever. I have agreed with Simon almost every week. No one has really blown me away. I have really liked some performances; Archuleta's Imagine, Castro's Hallelujah, and Hernandez's Papa Was a Rolling Stone. I think Castro is my favorite even though Archuleta will win in a landslide. The girls are horrible with the exception of Syesha and Brooke. Ramiele needs to just go away so I don't have to see her cry anymore. I can't beleive Neidermyer is still in. I knew it was good last night when my 3 of my 4 favorite guys were the first ones called out and my 3 least favorite guys were the last three to get called out

  2. I need to get in on this contest. I got 3/4 this week. But here's the difference b/w Danny and Sanjaya. People thought Sanjaya was nice. Danny's an idiot with an attitude.

Case in point, watch American Dreams, the movie not the TV show. Danny is the spitting image of Omar's cousin, the one who does not get to go onto the Idol-like show in the movie. Omar is more of the likeable Sanjaya type. The one where you can ignore the singing and watch him for entertainment.

Maybe Danny should have gone with the bird's nest that Sanjaya wore for "Bath Water" last year.

  3. I'm not enjoying this season of American Idoln'tcarewhowinsyourcompetition. The girls are soooo boring. Their hotness doesn't even make up for their blahness. I think they should go ahead and crown David Archuleta and start a new season.

I do think that David Hernandez is going to give him a run for his money. Did you like how Simon said, "I liked how he 'stripped' it down" after David H finished?

  4. You can get in on it but you have to take a handicap since we're already 3 weeks/12 contestants in.

And Eric, who from the girls do you think is hot? Brooke is cute and so is Syesha but in a little sister way. Please tell me you don't have a crush on Neidermyer.

  5. I'll take a handicap at 5 of 12. I'm not taking 4 because that's almost insurmountable now that only one will be kicked off per week.

And I know you asked Eric but Syesha is kinda cute and Kristy Lee is the only other one remotely cute. Brooke's not fooling me with her wanna be Taylor Swift look. There's only room for one Taylor in this town. Did you know when they asked NHL hockey players who they'd like to see on SI Swimsuit Edition, the most common answer was Taylor Swift. Yup.

  6. Maybe hot isn't the right word based on the shallow definition of attractiveness we have bought into as a society. I think Syesha and Ramiele are attractive. Plus, I kind of like that throwback, simple Renee Zellweger look that Brooke has.

    Amanda- No comment.

  7. Renee Zellweger would LOVE to look like Brooke.

"Shallow definition we have bought into as a society"? Okay. By the way, how's that rigorous diet coming along?

  8. I tend to agree with LJ. That's twice in one day which is odd. Renee Zellweger may be throw-back, but that doesn't necessarily mean attractive. In her case, I think it means weird eyes and pouty/puckered lips.

  9. Ouch. Can I respond? I don't think I've bought into the shallow definition. I'm fine the way I am. If you want to act as I do, you have to accept that you're a product like laundry detergent, frozen pizza, or a car. Six pack abs will sell more any day than pudgy pale white boy.

  10. D- Twice in one day? I only counted this one time. When was the other?

Eric, I love you just the way you are.

Oh goody!
