SCATTERED

I don't have a 2008 calendar yet and it's driving me crazy!

The past two years I have hit up TJ Maxx for a particular spiral bound calendar filled with pretty pictures by Monet (2006) and Van Gogh (2007). I saw the 2008 editions on the shelves in TJ Maxx back in November, but the line was so long that day that I didn't feel like waiting in it just to buy a calendar. Plus, I hadn't decided if I wanted to spend the year looking at Monet, Picasso or Van Gogh again.

Well, now they are all gone and guess who has been writing everything down on an index card? Haircut, dinner, doctor's appointments, meetings, etc., all on a sad little 4x6 index card. To those newer to my life and my blog, THIS IS VERY UNLIKE ME. Not unlike me? Being insanely picky about something like, oh I don't know, a calendar.

I left TJ Maxx last night and went next door to the bookstore to try to find a planner/calendar, just to finally have one, since I have abandoned hope of getting the kind I have had the past two years. This was a wash both figuratively and literally: I didn't find a calendar I liked and it was raining so hard that I actually had to take off my shoes and pour water out of them before I went into the store.

No one will respond to this besides Jenn, I'm guessing, but if you are addicted to a certain brand/kind of planner/desk calendar, please share what kind and where to buy it. I'm running out of room on my index card.

  2. OMG. I don't know how you're living right now. I got my 2008 page fillers in Nov.

I'm a loyal Franklin Covey girl. They sell all sorts of pretty binders and the fillers can be fun - I just keep it simple, but love reading the daily quotes and being able to look so far forward. I also order the yearly binder, so I have all my books from 2004 to the present. Love having the opportunity to look back. And the final added bonus is that MP&F pays for the fillers, etc. Perhaps your peeps would do the same?

  3. I have a calendar that Courier Printing gave me that I'd be happy to share. For some reason I get lots of calendars for free (vendors, businesses, etc...) The calendar contains images of retro neon signs from around the country.
    It's free. You want?

  4. I've got a B&G one that you can have. M,T,W on the left page; R,F,S,S on the right page. It's got lines for every hourly spot from 8-5. Quotes from the likes of Lincoln and Twain at the top. Navy blue with a huge honkin logo of Brasfield & Gorrie on the front. I'll draw some flowers on the front if you want.

  5. Thanks Wes, but I think if anyone gets your spare 2008 calendar, it should be your wife.

  10. No, it's these.

Everyone run to your local TJ Maxx and see if they have this with Monet or Van Gogh on the front for $4-6. They're back in the book section, in between pots & pans and picture frames. With the cookbooks and diet books. Get me one of those too, while you're at it.

  11. I've got a "The Office: Inspirational Calendar" for 2008. It's awesome. What about something like that?

  12. Update: I even went to Office Max last night and could not find a calendar. I finally resigned myself to having to chronicle the year using index cards, but when I got home from work today, there was a little present waiting for me. I opened it and was so pleased to see that MB had wrapped up her spare calendar and given it to me. If that's not friendship, I don't know what is.
